SCOTT ROBERTS, PRINCIPAL
Scott earned his Master of Science Degree in Education Administration from University of Kansas 2000 and has his Bachelor of Science in Middle/Secondary Education also from the University of Kansas.
From 1995 to 2002, while at BVHS, Scott taught Social Studies and English, in addition to being a Peer Review Facilitator, Publications Advisor for the award-winning Reflections Yearbook and was named to Walsworth publishing company's Advisory Council. He was BV's Summer School principal 2000-2005. Scott was named Assistant Principal at BVHS Spring 2001. At BVHS he sponsored Student Council 1997-2002 and was Senior Class Sponsor 1998-2002. At BVW, Scott was Assistant Principal and Activities Director 2002-2005, and Associate Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction 2005-2007. He has served as the principal at BVSW since the building opened in 2010.
Honors include: Kansas Teacher of the Year Nominee BVHS - 1999, Kansas Master Teacher finalist BVHS - 2001, BVHS Parent Club Teacher of the Year - 2001, State of Kansas Thespians Administrator Award - 2003, BVW Golden Apple Award Winner – 2005, Distinguished Service Award from the Kansas Association of School Libraries - 2011.
Other experience includes Trainer, Respecting Ethnic and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Program; Administrator, Contract for Credit Program, summer 2001-2006; presenter at Rocky Mountain Regional Social Studies Conference 1997. District committee member for English Curriculum Development Committee, Alternative Compensation Committee, Social Studies Assessment Development Committee, Curriculum and Instruction Committee, and BV Southwest Design Steering Committee.
In his free time, Scott enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife Tish and their four children.
