A LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Lakewood Middle School Community,
I wanted to say hello and help you get to know me a little better. My name is Stephen Heinauer. I have worked in the Blue Valley school district since 2003. During this time I have served in a variety of roles. For the last six years I have served as the principal of Indian Valley Elementary. Prior to being the principal of Indian Valley, I served as the assistant principal at Oxford Middle School, was the district's first elementary-level administrative intern at Oak Hill Elementary, and was a classroom teacher at a variety of grade levels.
I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I received my master's degree in school leadership and then a few years later a doctorate of education in educational leadership from Baker University.
On a personal note, my wife of thirteen years Leah now stays at home with our nine year old daughter, Adria, our seven year old son, Isaac, and our three year old sons Eli and Owen. Leah was a second grade teacher at Harmony Elementary for five years prior to making the decision to stay home. During my free time I enjoy playing the guitar, mountain hiking, and traveling.
I look forward to partnering with you to provide your child with exceptional learning opportunities.
Dr. Stephen Heinauer
