Dr. Trent Stern grew up in Northeast Colorado and attended the University of Kansas where he earned his bachelor's and master's degree in education.  He joined Blue Valley in 1997, and for 18 years he served as an English language arts teacher, reading specialist, department chair, and football coach at Harmony Middle and Blue Valley West.  Trent served on the district's education services support team for two years before spending last year at Oxford Middle as the assistant principal.

Trent is beginning his 22nd year in education and first as principal. He and his wife Jill, also a Blue Valley educator, have three children.  Their oldest daughter is a recent graduate of Blue Valley West, and they have boy-girl twins who are currently in middle school.

Trent believes that ALL kids deserve to feel safe, respected, challenged and loved.  He strives to build and cultivate a school culture that inspires students to dream, create, learn and grow. This vision is possible because of the talented, caring, and committed adults working together to empower kids.

Trent is honored to serve the OTMS community as principal and looks forward to building positive relationships with students, staff, and families to provide meaningful educational opportunities that develop the whole child and build on the rich tradition at Overland Trail Middle.

Lisa Stolper is entering her eleventh year in education.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and International Relations from Tulane University and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Baker University.  Currently, Mrs. Stolper is pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Baker University.

Mrs. Stolper has taught elementary, middle, and high school. Her career began in Denver, CO as an elementary bilingual special education teacher.  Upon moving to Kansas City, Mrs. Stolper taught one year of middle school Spanish in Missouri.  In 2011, Mrs. Stolper began her career in Blue Valley as a Spanish teacher at Pleasant Ridge Middle School.  Following her time at Pleasant Ridge, Mrs. Stolper taught Spanish at Blue Valley West High School.  After receiving her master's degree, Mrs. Stolper spent a year as the Administrative Intern at Blue Valley North High School and subsequently became the Assistant Principal at Pleasant Ridge Middle School, where she spent the last two years.

Mrs. Stolper believes that all students can learn and deserve to feel a sense of safety and belonging while at school.  Ensuring that all students feel safe and welcome is the responsibility of every staff member in the building.  Above all else, Mrs. Stolper believes that relationships are at the heart of education.  The relationships that students build with their teachers, their peers, and their parents help educate them, nurture them, and shape who they will ultimately become.

Mrs. Stolper is looking forward to getting to know all the Overland Trail Middle School students and families. She is thrilled to be joining the OTMS community and become a Falcon.  OTMS PROUD!
